Breast and Cervical Screening Program
Nashville Davidson County

The Tennessee Breast and Cervical Screening program is a comprehensive screening program available to low-income, uninsured, and underinsured women.  This program provides access to timely, high-quality and diagnostic services, to detect breast and cervical cancer at its earliest stages.

Screening and Diagnostic Services include:

  • Office Visits
  • Clinical breast examinations
  • Screening and Diagnostic Mammograms
  • Breast Biopsies
  • Breast Ultrasounds
  • Pelvic exams
  • Pap tests
  • Colposcopies
  • Diagnostic testing for women whose screening outcome is abnormal
  • Surgical consultation
  • Referrals to treatment

General Eligibility Criteria:
All Women must:

  • Be 40-64 years of age
  • Be at or below 250% of federal poverty level
  • Uninsured
  • Underinsured (insurance excludes routine Pap tests and mammograms)

**Younger women may be eligible if meet specific guidelines

For Treatment Services:

  • Women may be enrolled in presumptive eligibility (PE) TennCare thorough the state’s TennCare program to facilitate immediate access to care for women  who are found to be in need of treatment for breast or cervical cancer or precancerous conditions.  Women must meet eligibility criteria.
