General Sanitation

The General Sanitation program is responsible for enforcing the health and sanitation codes in Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County.

Among these are:

Improper storage and disposal of garbage and trash
Enforcing rodent and pest control regulations
Interior and exterior plumbing problems involving human contact with sewage

The program also deals with:

Excessive vegetation
Littered vacant lots
Lead-based paint surveys
Illegal dumping
Trailer court and campground inspections

The program is complaint-driven. Complaints are assigned to an inspector who will conduct an investigation within 24 hours of receiving the complaint.
