Percolation Tests

Septic system approvals in Davidson County are no longer based on percolation ("perc") tests.  Today's regulations require soils analysis and mapping.

During the course of the soils analysis and mapping, we may detect soils that are considered marginal for their capacity to support a septic system. In these rare cases a traditional percolation test can be run on these marginal soils to determine their suitability. Such a test would be in addition to, and not take the place of, our approval procedure.
