Tuberculosis Elimination ProgramThe purpose of the Tuberculosis (TB) Elimination Program is to reduce and, ultimately, eliminate TB in Nashville. Tuberculosis Elimination Services · The TB Elimination Program works with community agencies, providers, and hospitals to identify persons who have active TB disease. Diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up services are provided to all persons in Davidson County who are diagnosed with active TB disease. Contact investigations are conducted in partnership with patients who have active TB disease to identify, evaluate, and treat individuals who have been exposed to active TB. Directly observed therapy is provided to all persons with TB disease, children, and some high risk contacts. · The TB Elimination Program provides TB screening for Davidson County residents. Persons who are determined to be at risk for TB infection or TB disease may receive additional screening including skin testing and chest X-rays. Preventive treatment for latent TB is available and provided free of charge. · The TB Elimination Program provides community education, upon request, to individuals, community groups, businesses, and healthcare providers. Cost of Services Screening, evaluation, and treatment are provided free of charge. A $ 10.00 fee is charged for some reports.
