Opens Flu Shot Clinic November 6
Flu Shots To Be Offered to Davidson County Residents age 3 and Up
NASHVILLE, Tenn., October 30, 2006 – The Metro Public Health Department will
open its Fast Track Clinic beginning at 8 a.m. November 6, offering flu
shots to the general public.
The Health Department will offer flu shots for a $10 fee (cash or checks
with picture ID) to Davidson County
residents only. Medicare Part B and TennCare are accepted. We do not accept
credit or debit cards. Flu shots will be
available at the Health Department’s Fast Track Clinic from 8 a.m. –3 p.m.,
Monday through Friday in the Lentz Public Health Center auditorium. The
Lentz Public Health Center is located at 311 23rd Avenue North. Flu shots
are offered on a walk-in basis.
The Health Department is not offering flu vaccine to children under three
years old. The Health Department advises parents of children under three
years old to check with their pediatrician’s office for flu shots.
The Health Department recommends those who are 65 years of age and over, and
those who have chronic disease should get a flu shot. The best available
protection against influenza during the flu season is to get a flu shot.
The health department will also offer the Pneumococcal Polysaccharide
(Pneumonia) vaccine. The health department recommends those with chronic
disease and those over 65 years of age get the Pneumococcal vaccine in
addition to the flu shot. The Pneumococcal vaccine is offered for $15
(Medicare Part B accepted).
