Metro Public Health Department to Submit Proposed Mosquito Control Policy to Board of Health
Health Department Proposes Board Hold Public Hearing at March 11th Board Meeting

The Metro Public Health Department has drafted a proposed mosquito control policy that will be presented to the Board of Health at their regularly scheduled meeting on February 12, 2008, at 4 p.m. Health Department officials will also propose a 37-day public comment process to Board members, which with their approval will begin after Tuesday’s Board meeting.

The Health Department will recommend Board members schedule a public hearing on the Department’s proposed mosquito control policy to take place at the March 11th Board of Health meeting.

If approved, the public will have additional opportunity to make comment at the March 11th Board of Health meeting, and written comment for the seven days following the meeting.

The Health Department will recommend Board members vote on ratification of the proposed mosquito control plan at their regularly schedule Board of Health meeting on April 8, 2008.

Board of Health meetings take place the second Tuesday of each month at 4 p.m. at the Lentz Public Health Center, located at 311 23rd Avenue North.

The Health Department’s proposed mosquito control plan is available online at healthweb.nashville.gov.
