Flu Shot Update
from the Metro Public Health Department NASHVILLE, Tenn., October 20, 2004 -- The Metro Public Health Department will continue offering flu shots, Thursday, October 21. Shots will be offered from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Flu vaccine will be offered only at the Lentz Public Health Center, 311 23rd Avenue North. The Health Department will offer flu shots for $10, Medicare Part B and TennCare are accepted. Due to the recent announcement of a flu vaccine shortage, the Metro Public Health Department will follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommendation of providing flu shots only to Davidson County residents at high risk of dying from flu-related illness. The CDC has identified the following priority groups to receive flu vaccine: The Health Department will verify high-risk group as follows: Please call 340-2100 for a recorded message for information or updates on this year’s flu shot clinic. Updates will also be placed on the Health Department’s Internet site located http://healthweb.nashville.gov/ (Please note there is no WWW in Internet address). |
